Michael Levis, Tuba
Michael has enjoyed considerable success since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2004. He has had trials for Principal Tuba positions with the BBC Symphony and Ulster Orchestras, has toured Europe and America with the London Symphony Orchestra, and enjoys regular work with London Philharmonic and English National Ballet, among others.
Whilst at the Guildhall, Michael studied with Patrick Harrild, and his time at the college saw him gain places with the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and National Musicians Symphony Orchestra. Michael was also twice finalist in the Guildhall Brass Prize, and was awarded a concerto by the college for outstanding performance. In 2005 Michael also enjoyed success at the Royal Overseas League Competition, where he was finalist in the Wind and Brass category.
Before starting his undergraduate studies, Michael was taught by Graham Sibley at Junior Guildhall, and gained positions with the National Children’s Orchestra, and, later, the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
